We offer Alarm.com with all of our systems. Alarm.com integrates with both Google and Alexa. Siri also offers shortcuts to Alarm.com. So, what can you do with that? Control not only your alarm system but set up scenes in your home with lighting, door locks, thermostats, and more.
If your alarm siren goes off, the system sends the monitoring station a signal. This signal is sent through a phone line or through cellular communication. If your system communicates through cellular, then the system also sends a signal at the exact same time to the app provider. The two app providers we use are Alarm.com and Total Connect 2.0. The monitoring station will then call you to determine if the alarm is just a false alarm or if you need help. Please be prepared to give the monitoring station your password at this time. If the monitoring station does not reach you or a good password is not given to them, they will then call the police or fire department depending on the type of alarm. If at any point you enter a good disarm code into the keypad we will cancel the alarm.
There are 5 local police departments that require a permit to respond to our phone calls. This permit is referred to as a 1st responders permit or a third-party permit. We do not require that you get this permit, but the police department may not respond to our
phone call without one. We will still call you with or without a permit. Your phone call to the police department after we call you is not subject to a permit. One of the local police departments may fine you without a permit. So, we suggest that if you live in Bixby, Sapulpa, Broken Arrow, Tulsa, or Owasso you get a permit. If you do not live in one of these cities as of right now you are lucky and they do not require a permit.
Yes. Over 90% of our systems today do not use a phone lines for communication. We prefer Cellular communication for monitoring. Cellular communication also allows us to use smart phone apps to control your systems, get history reports and use home automation. You can now know when kids come home, doors open and close, thermostat settings are changed, and much more.
